Job Opportunity: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
Location
- Denville, New Jersey
Employment Type
- Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 10-hour shifts
- Shift hours: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-call responsibilities: Minimum of 15 call shifts required currently, including emergency and after-hours coverage
Job Description
- Scrub and monitor cardiac, vascular, interventional radiology, and interventional neurology procedures
- Manage access sites and symptoms, including sheath removal
- Schedule inpatients and outpatients for procedures
- Assist with admitting, recovering, and discharging patients
- Serve as first assist to physicians; must be able to work independently
- Prior experience in Cath Lab required, including CCL, Interventional Radiology, and Interventional Neurology procedures
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New Jersey
- Minimum of 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Completion of workplace violence prevention training (DCI/BVP)
Required Credentials and Compliance
- COVID-19 vaccination series plus booster or completed declination
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, and Influenza (flu vaccine or declination required during flu season)
- Annual TB test within one year of start date
- Annual respirator fit test (3M 1860(s) mask or equivalent)
- Annual color-blind test
- Physical/health statement confirming clearance to work (must be current)
- National criminal background check within one year of start date (with some state-specific timing requirements)
- Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)
- Driver’s license, state ID, or passport
- Professional license/certification primary source verification within 30 days of start date
- Drug screening (minimum 10-panel including THC) within 60 days of start date; additional saliva THC test required for California locations
- Completion of specialty and core competencies exams with a minimum score of 80%
- Submission of updated resume and two professional references (one must be from a manager or direct supervisor)
- Signed job description within the past year
- Completion of orientation packet including essentials form and post-test
- Agency attestation confirming all credentials are current and accurate
- Badge photo (clear headshot with plain background)
Additional Notes
- Must be able to work independently as a first assist in the Cath Lab
- On-call duties are a significant part of the role
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
