Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - HVI Procedure IR
Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Day (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, four 9-hour shifts per week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care to a designated group of patients using the nursing process and current nursing trends.
- Perform unit-specific responsibilities within the scope of service.
- Complete initial patient assessments and develop, implement, and modify plans of care based on patient and family needs.
- Administer medications necessary for procedures and manage patient care during moderate sedation.
- Monitor hemodynamics throughout procedures and document procedure events.
- Utilize supplies and equipment related to various interventional radiology procedures.
- Promote patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and contribute to peer professional development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation.
Specialty Procedures & Focus Areas
- Peripheral vascular work
- Venous central lines
- Tube changes
- Neuro procedures (preferred)
- Embolization (arterial and venous)
- Venous thrombectomy
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 3 years of Interventional Radiology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with neuro procedures is ideal
- Experience with embolization work (arterial and venous)
- Experience with venous thrombectomy
Work Hours
- 9 hours per day, 36 hours per week, scheduled as four 9-hour day shifts.
