Job Description
- Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients during assigned shifts using the nursing process.
- Perform initial patient assessments upon admission and develop, implement, and modify individualized plans of care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
- Prepare patients for digestive health procedures, including starting IVs and providing patient education.
- Monitor and sedate patients during procedures.
- Care for patients in both phase 1 and phase 2 recovery.
- Assist anesthesia providers (CRNA) during cases requiring anesthesia.
- Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Take initiative for professional development and fulfill departmental competency requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of recent endoscopy experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
