Job Opportunity: Nuclear Technologist

Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: Approximately 6 weeks
Shift: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week
  • No call
  • No weekends
  • Holidays required: New Year's Eve, Christmas Eve

Job Description

Perform duties as a Nuclear Medicine Technician with required credentials and experience.


Required Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration

  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Florida
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Certification from Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography or Nuclear Medicine
  • Radiologic Technologist credential

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience, or an associate's degree or technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Documentation of vaccinations and immunity for:
    • MMR (two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
  • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (October 1 – March 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • Tuberculosis screening:
    • 2-step PPD or IGRA within specified timeframes
    • If positive, negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire
  • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start; required annually)
  • Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter

Documentation and Onboarding Requirements

  • Resume/Profile submission required
  • Two professional references required prior to first assignment
  • Current, unexpired Driver’s License or State ID matching address on file
  • License/certificate verification and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other required screenings within 30 days prior to start; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
  • Employment verification for past seven years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start; updated after break in service > 90 days
  • Completion of core competencies and skills checklist related to specialty, updated annually
  • Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation required upon onboarding and extensions
  • Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)

Additional Notes

  • Florida license requirements do not apply if working in Georgia.
  • No prior travel experience is required for this position.

This position offers a structured schedule with no weekends or on-call duties, suitable for Nuclear Medicine Technologists meeting the specified credential and experience requirements.
