Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal Pediatric
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Job Overview
Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with proficiency in neonatal and pediatric respiratory care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Medicated aerosol therapy (small volume nebulizers, breath actuated nebulizers, vibrating mesh nebulizers)
- Patient education on aerosol, MDI, DPI therapy
- Administration of Pentamidine
- Airway clearance therapies (clapping, vibration, directed cough, PEP, oscillatory PEP, high frequency chest wall oscillation, intermittent percussive ventilation, acoustic airway clearance, cough assist)
- Airway management including suctioning, tracheostomy care, manual ventilation, intubation assist, assisted ventilation, mechanical ventilation, ventilator system checks
- Management of CPAP, BiPAP, NIMV, negative pressure ventilation, initiation and management of NAVA
- Neonatal high-risk delivery support, surfactant administration, neonatal resuscitation protocol (NRP), T-piece ventilation, intubation
- Blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation
- Humidity therapy and heated humidity devices
- Clinical practice guideline adherence for asthma, cystic fibrosis, respiratory distress syndrome, bronchopulmonary dysplasia prevention, acute chest syndrome, HFNC protocol, nitric oxide therapy
- Monitoring using pulse oximetry, peak flow meters, capnography, ventilator graphics, transcutaneous CO2 monitoring
- Transport with assisted ventilation including MRI and internal transport
- Neonatal rapid response team participation
- Oxygen and special gas therapy including nasal cannula, oxygen masks, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen tanks, blenders, analyzers, inhaled nitric oxide, sub-ambient oxygen, Heliox therapy
- Equipment cleaning and maintenance
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, including experience within the last year
- Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP certification issued by the American Academy of Pediatrics
- NBRC certification
