Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)

Job Overview

• Provide total nursing care coordination for patients, including patient and family teaching.
• May be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse.
• Float between Acute Rehab, Med Surg, and any unit within scope of practice.
• Nurse to patient ratio: 1 to 4/5.
• Average daily patient census: 22.
• Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner.
• 12-hour night shifts.
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation required.
• Call-back, holiday, and overtime multipliers apply.
• Strict attendance policy: after 3 call-offs, contract may be terminated. Call-offs must be communicated at least 1.5 hours in advance.
• No block scheduling or schedule accommodations allowed.
• Requested time off must be submitted and approved at time of application; no requests accepted after offer.
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible.
• Candidate must have own vehicle due to lack of public transportation.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont or Compact RN license.
• Minimum 2 years recent experience in Medical-Surgical and Rehabilitation nursing.
• Prior travel experience: at least 3 months of previous travel nursing required.
• Charge Nurse experience required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Skills checklist for Medical-Surgical nursing current within 1 year.
• At least one supervisory-signed reference from the past two years.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred but not required.

• Facility is a 35-bed critical access community hospital with 25 inpatient medical-surgical beds and a 10-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit.
• The hospital offers acute care, transitional care, hospice, physical therapy, and a therapeutic pool.
• Windsor, VT is a small community with no public transportation and is within a 3-hour drive of Boston, Montreal, and New York.
• Strict policy on time off and scheduling requests; no accommodations after submission.
