Description
Registered Nurse - Float Pool (MS/Tele/PCU) - Night Shift
Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 7 PM – 7 AM, 4 shifts per week (12 hours each)
Hours per Week: 48 hours
Job Summary
- Provide professional nursing care within assigned hospital units including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit.
- Carry out provider orders and maintain comprehensive clinical documentation including care plans each shift.
- Communicate patient information effectively through bedside shift reports, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding (AIDET).
- Promote a positive and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures and protocols.
- Participate in unit-based safety huddles and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Serve as a preceptor for new nurses and collaborate with nursing students and instructors.
- Demonstrate shared governance principles and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Complete dysrhythmia course prior to orientation completion (required for telemetry-based departments).
- Float to Psychiatric units as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire.
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience with floating between units.
Additional Information
- Up to 16 hours of orientation are unpaid.
- The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
- Willingness and ability to float to Psychiatric units as needed.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
