Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Georgia, Americus

Job Details

• Specialty: Respiratory Therapy
• Location: Americus, Georgia
• Shift: Days (12-hour shifts, 7 AM - 7 PM)
• Schedule: Night shift every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Contract Length: 17 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Patient Types: Adults, neonates, and soon pediatrics; includes ER, Acute Care, ICU, nursery, and deliveries
• Typical Caseload: 70-75 treatments per day (employees typically do 35 per day)
• Common Procedures: Ventilator management, BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, EKG, intubation assistance, emergency response, code blue response, assessment, arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and analysis
• Orientation: Floor-specific, 2 shifts
• Call: Once a month with 30-minute response time, including weekends
• Holidays: Rotate with permanent staff
• Uniform: Scrub color - Ceil blue
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); no travel experience accepted for submission
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, RRT
• Licensing: Must hold an active RRT license
• Residency Requirement: Driver’s license address must be within a 75-mile radius of the main campus (even if working in Americus)
• Additional Compliance: Must provide copies of diplomas, certificates, transcripts, or degrees related to respiratory care, laboratory/patient testing, or chemistry training due to state lab and CLIA requirements for ABG analysis

• Must have good customer service skills
• Patient population includes preemies and pre-term infants (mother’s gestation 32 weeks and over) in the nursery
• Weekend requirement: either Monday-Friday or a weekend shift, not both
