Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location
- Portland, Maine
Employment Type
- Travel assignment
Contract Length
- Approximately 26 weeks
Work Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Weekly Hours: 48 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Hours: 36 hours per weekend (unless otherwise noted)
- Call Requirement: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
Unit and Patient Care Information
- Department: Respiratory Therapy
- Patient Types: Acute care pediatrics, NICU/PICU, adult acute and critical care
- Patient Ratios: Acute care 1:25, Critical care 1:8
- Equipment Used: Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, Vapotherm
- EMR System: EPIC
- Facility Type: Tertiary, teaching hospital, Level 1 trauma center
- Team Size: 14-16 RRTs covering the entire facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Maine
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- Experience working with neonate, pediatric, and adult patients
- Experience in a teaching hospital environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cardiothoracic patients
- Flexibility, strong communication skills, and ability to work well in a team environment
Additional Information
- Float Requirements: Must be able to float as an RRT to NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, and emergency department
- Dress Code: Scrubs provided or flexible on scrub color
- Personality Fit: Flexible and team-oriented with excellent communication skills
