Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (L&D)
Location
- Federal Way, Washington
Contract Length
- 13 weeks

Shift & Hours
- Night shift
- 12-hour shifts
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- Some weekend and holiday work required
- No call or standby requirement
- Floating not required
Orientation
- Orientation/education hours not guaranteed during first 2 weeks; expect 25+ hours
- Unit-specific orientation provided
Unit Details
- L&D/PP/MB unit with:
- 8 L&D beds
- 2 OR suites
- 2 triage beds
- 10 postpartum beds
- Approximately 1500 births per year
- Med-high risk patient population
- Nurse aids and surgical techs available on unit
- OB/Neonatologist coverage 24/7
- RNs read fetal heart strips; no monitor techs on unit
- No telemetry on unit
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) system: Centricity
- RNs required to titrate drips (common titratable and set rate drips)
- Charge nurse/house supervisor role present
- Dress code: Blue scrubs provided
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Active Washington State RN license
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery or Nursery Level 2
Additional Information
- Ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- Respiratory therapy equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP) run by RTs, not initiated by RNs
