Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Lubbock, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shifts, 3 shifts per weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • Hours: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM), total 36 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, must work Friday through Sunday
  • Float: No floating between units
  • On-call: Not required
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1
  • Special Experience Required: Must have experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, General Surgery, XI/DV5 Robot, and Trauma

Required Qualifications

Licensure

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) experience
  • Experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, and Trauma specialties

Education

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit Mask test (annual, travel only)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer (declination accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (declination accepted)
  • 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months (instant acceptable with attestation)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
  • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance (annual for travel)

Background and Verification

  • Background Check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
  • Education Verification required for nursing degree
  • Employment Application covering last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
  • Work History Verification required if exceptions to references are requested
  • State-specific background checks as applicable

Uniform and Dress Code

  • Licensed nursing personnel must wear solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (scrub tops may have colored piping)
  • Print tops are not acceptable except in specific pediatric or women's services units

Additional Notes

  • Free parking available in unrestricted employee/visitor lots
  • Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background)
  • Float Policy Acknowledgement required; may be asked to float to nearby facilities within reasonable distance
  • Completion of required WorkRamp modules and facility-specific training prior to start
  • Epic access training and transcripts may be required depending on region and facility
