Sonographer Position - New Jersey

Job Summary

• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, focusing on comfort and clear communication.
• Perform ultrasound procedures, monitor patients throughout the process, and relieve pre-testing anxiety.
• Set up equipment and ensure timely administration of procedures.
• Review prior reports, images, and patient charts carefully.
• Ensure completeness and quality of studies, notify readers as appropriate.
• Maintain records, logs of exams performed, and control inventory and supplies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Several years of dedicated inpatient echocardiography experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Minimum of 200 inpatient echocardiography cases documented by institutional referral.
• Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills.
• Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies.
• Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities, and respond quickly to critical findings.
• License: Valid Sonographer certification/license as required for the role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Stress Echo.
• Familiarity with 3D echocardiography imaging.
• Knowledge of protocols related to TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure devices.
• Experience maintaining ICAEL-accredited echo lab standards.
• Experience using Philips ie33 and Epiq ultrasound systems.
• Familiarity with Epic hospital information system.

Work Schedule

• Either Sunday through Thursday, 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, or Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks (89 days).
