Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – STICU
Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks
Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week
Unit & Patient Population
- 20-bed unit with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1; 1:1 ratio common for higher acuity patients
- Patient types include:
- Neuro patients with brain herniation and brain drains
- Ortho trauma patients requiring traction
- Cardiovascular device patients (balloon pumps, Impellas, Ekos)
- Post-op open-heart CABG patients
- Open abdomen patients often requiring bedside re-operations
- Renal patients requiring bedside CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) managed by RNs
- Medical ICU patients overflow as needed
- ECMO program planned to start in the summer
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum of 2 years ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Additional Information
- Strict 75-mile radius travel restriction applies
- Prior experience with high-acuity ICU patients and advanced critical care devices strongly preferred
