Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

• City: Dickson, Tennessee

Employment Type

• Travel contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Full-time, 36 hours per week
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays; PRN shifts available

Unit Overview

• Unit: Women’s Services (LDRP)
• Beds: 9 LDRP beds, 1 OBED bed, 4 NICU beds, 1 OR suite
• Patient Ratios:

  • Labor, inductions, C-sections: 1:1
  • Couplet care: 1:3
  • Newborns: 1:1 until stable
  • NICU intermediate care: 1:3 (minimum 2 NICU nurses present)
• Staffing: No unit secretaries or techs; regular staff may float within the facility as needed, some cross-trained between LDRP & NICU
• Equipment: Central patient monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps
• Documentation systems: Meditech and CPN
• Patient experience: Daily rounding on all patients, including safety rounding

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• Current certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
• Experience in charge nurse roles
• Labor and delivery experience including labor, recovery, newborn transition, and assessment
