Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse
Location: Owings Mills, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care covering Baltimore County.
- Work schedule: Thursday through Monday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day).
- Expected productivity: 30 points per week.
- Responsible for completing patient admissions.
- Patient population: Geriatric patients.
- Expected daily visit volume: Approximately 6 visits per day.
- On-call and weekend work may be required occasionally but generally contractors work Monday through Friday.
- Local candidates are acceptable.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of Home Health experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in a Home Care setting
- Experience with OASIS documentation
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service.
- Proof of E-Verify or attestation required.
- Background check: 7-year criminal history check including SS trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle records. Must be updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals.
- Education verification upon client request.
- NURSYS verification required for all RNs.
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually).
- N95 fit test within 1 year of start, updated annually (can be done onsite if needed).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually. Special provisions for past positive TB tests.
- Immunizations or titers required:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; exemptions apply for candidates born before 1957.
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination accepted.
- Varicella: 2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start; instant drug screen acceptable.
- Seasonal influenza vaccination or documented declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31). Exemptions require documentation.
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required using facility-specific forms.
Additional Requirements
- Auto insurance documentation required.
- Completion of facility-specific contractor activation form for access.
- References:
- Two professional references within 2 years required for travel nursing positions.
- Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the agency over 1 year.
- Skills checklist must be updated annually.
