Description
Physical Therapist Position in California
Job Summary
- Work under supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
- Assess referred patients and develop physical therapy intervention plans.
- Schedule treatments, document patient care, and assign duties to assistants and aides.
- Instruct and evaluate therapy students and assistants during clinical affiliations.
- Regularly assume duties of Charge Therapist.
- Provide care appropriate to the age of patients served, including children.
- Coordinate referrals for continued physical therapy services after discharge.
- Maintain hospital safety standards and ensure department objectives are met.
Job Responsibilities
- Assess patients and plan care compatible with physician, patient, and family goals.
- Deliver high-quality, safe patient care.
- Complete all necessary documentation related to treatment.
- Facilitate patient return to the highest degree of independence possible.
- Maintain cost-effective treatment plans.
- Assign and oversee assistants and aides to expedite treatment.
- Review and update care plans for patients treated by support staff.
- Assist in orientation of new employees and volunteers.
- Provide courteous service to all employees, patients, and associates.
- Administer physical therapy care plans for children, including gross motor skills, gait, therapeutic exercises, development, and durable medical equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Physical Therapy license or eligibility.
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification per American Heart Association standards.
- Acute hospital setting experience required.
- Epic electronic health record experience: minimum 6 to 12 months within the past year.
Contract Details
- Contract length: Approximately 13 weeks (90 days).
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts with one weekend shift per month.
