    Description

    Physical Therapist Position in California

    Job Summary

    • Work under supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
    • Assess referred patients and develop physical therapy intervention plans.
    • Schedule treatments, document patient care, and assign duties to assistants and aides.
    • Instruct and evaluate therapy students and assistants during clinical affiliations.
    • Regularly assume duties of Charge Therapist.
    • Provide care appropriate to the age of patients served, including children.
    • Coordinate referrals for continued physical therapy services after discharge.
    • Maintain hospital safety standards and ensure department objectives are met.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Assess patients and plan care compatible with physician, patient, and family goals.
    • Deliver high-quality, safe patient care.
    • Complete all necessary documentation related to treatment.
    • Facilitate patient return to the highest degree of independence possible.
    • Maintain cost-effective treatment plans.
    • Assign and oversee assistants and aides to expedite treatment.
    • Review and update care plans for patients treated by support staff.
    • Assist in orientation of new employees and volunteers.
    • Provide courteous service to all employees, patients, and associates.
    • Administer physical therapy care plans for children, including gross motor skills, gait, therapeutic exercises, development, and durable medical equipment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid California Physical Therapy license or eligibility.
    • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification per American Heart Association standards.
    • Acute hospital setting experience required.
    • Epic electronic health record experience: minimum 6 to 12 months within the past year.

    Contract Details

    • Contract length: Approximately 13 weeks (90 days).
    • Shift: 8-hour day shifts with one weekend shift per month.

    Note: Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
