Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit

Location

  • Day shift
  • 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

  • Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient readiness to learn and use appropriate patient education materials.
  • Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
  • Organize and prioritize care for patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
  • Anticipate discharge needs and develop relationships with patients’ families to support advocacy.
  • Participate in unit goals, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively within and across departments.
  • Stay informed about public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting healthcare.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
  • Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Knowledge of NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school.

This position does not require prior travel experience.
