Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location
- Baltimore, Maryland

- Contract Length: 14 weeks
Shift Details
- Night shift
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Total 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Maryland
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
- Adult critical care experience
- Emergency Department (ED) experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Certifications & Exams
- ACLS and BLS must be current AHA Provider Certifications (Instructor card or RQI acceptable)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (Relias or Prophecy platform only), renewed annually, with up to 3 attempts allowed
- Pass/Fail testing for EKG/medication as required
- Other certifications may be required based on unit description (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, PALS, NRP, TNCC) — verify per assignment specifics
Additional Requirements
- Consent to release information form must be completed prior to start
- Compliance with hand hygiene policy
- Completion and signature of floating and time & attendance policies for contracted staff
- Respirator fit test to be completed onsite; PAPR training provided if fit test is failed
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Education verification and transcript/diploma preferred but not always required
- E-Verify/I9 documentation required
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years preferred (may substitute for work history verification)
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted
Notes
- Candidate must be prepared for a night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts
- Must have adult critical care or emergency department experience
- Government-issued photo ID must be valid and original (no paper copies except temporary receipts)
- Drug screen and labs must be completed by Monday prior to start to ensure on-time onboarding
- Some certifications and CEUs (Stroke, Trauma) may be required during assignment; check unit-specific requirements
- Candidate must acknowledge pass/fail testing policies and complete required competency exams timely to avoid cancellation
This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with critical care or ED background seeking a travel contract opportunity on night shifts in Maryland. First-time travel therapists are welcome to apply.
