Scrub Tech - OR (Travel Assignment)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Labor and Delivery
- Number of Beds: 16
- Staffing: 120 staff members
- Shifts:
- Day Shift: Charge nurse, PCT, CST, RN
- Night Shift: Charge nurse, PCT, CST, RN
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
- Equipment Used: Baxter Pumps, Phillips electronic fetal monitoring
- EMR System: Cerner, Fetal Ink
Job Description
- Work primarily in Labor and Delivery with a focus on surgical scrub tech duties.
- Typical procedures include:
- Vaginal Deliveries
- Cesarean Sections
- D&C (Dilation and Curettage)
- Cerclage
- C-Hyst (Cesarean Hysterectomy)
- Immediate newborn care and high-risk obstetrics experience are essential.
- The role may involve circulating duties (preferred but not mandatory).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of OB Technician experience, including experience within the last year.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Surgical Technologist experience.
- Experience working with high-risk patients.
- Experience working with neonate patients.
- Circulating experience.
- Completion of a formal assessment pertinent to the Surgical Technologist position or knowledge/training concerning USP 800 standards for handling hazardous drugs.
Additional Information
- Dress code: Scrub color/attire provided.
- Floating areas may include MFMU (Maternal-Fetal Medicine Unit), MOMB (Mother-Baby Unit), and NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).
- Weekends and on-call shifts are not required but may be available with approval.
This position is ideal for a Scrub Tech with solid Labor and Delivery experience seeking a travel assignment in a high-acuity, well-recognized hospital setting.
