Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Description
- 13-week travel contract with night shifts (3 shifts of 12 hours each).
- Schedule options accepted: 3x12 or 4x12 shifts.
- No on-call duties.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department.
- Minimum 2 years of total respiratory specialty experience.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Experience with specialized respiratory equipment including Hamilton G5, PB 980, Respironics V60, Optiflow, Lumis tx, Cough Assist, Vest, and IPV.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Pennsylvania.
- At least 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year.
- Minimum 1 year of Adult Critical Care experience.
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including:
- SSN Trace
- County, State, Nationwide Criminal Search
- Sex Offender Search
- DMV check (if driving is essential)
- Education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire.
- Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprint clearance required within 90 days of start.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 90 days of start.
- Pennsylvania PATCH and Medicheck search results required within 30-90 days of start.
- Employment application with 7 years of complete work history and explanations for gaps over 90 days.
- Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physician statement (physical exam) within 2 months of start.
- Fit test questionnaire and fit mask test required prior to start.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start.
- Negative TB test (QGold or T-Spot within 90 days, or 2 PPDs with one within 90 days) or chest x-ray if history of positive TB.
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declinations not accepted)
- Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (9-panel without THC/Marijuana also acceptable).
- COVID-19 vaccination required or signed declination with facility-specific form.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required.
- Respirator medical clearance required annually for respirator use starting 04/07/2025.
Competency and Testing Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% passing score, 2 attempts allowed).
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (annual, minimum 88% passing score, 3 attempts allowed).
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for all RNs and LVNs except certain specialties.
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual).
- State license primary source verification prior to start and upon expiration.
- National certification verification prior to start and upon expiration.

- Return-to-Office (RTO) requests must be approved by the facility.
- All required documentation must be uploaded and verified prior to start.
