Description
Cath Lab Technologist
Location: Bloomington, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Hours per Day: 9
Hours per Week: 36
Job Details
- Work in Cardiac Cath Tech department with 2 labs, 1 hybrid room, and a 6-bed recovery area
- Average of 5 cases per day
- Common patient diagnoses include STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, stroke patients needing neuro-intervention, peripheral angiograms, line and drain placements, and loop recorders
- Use of Epic EMR system
- Equipment includes Philips monitoring equipment, McKesson systems, Philips tables, and a BiPlane in one lab
- Charge nurse available on shift who may take assignments occasionally
- On-call requirements: 2-3 weeknights per week, every 3rd weekend, and 2-3 holidays per year
- Typically no floating to other units
- Hospital scrubs provided
- Orientation: 32 hours (4 shifts)
- Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Recent experience with heart caths and peripheral caths required
- Preferred experience with Philips equipment and McKesson systems
- Must comply with drug-free campus policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
Additional Notes
- Local rate adjustment applies for clinicians living within 50 miles
- Call-off policy allows equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty or pay deduction
- Submission requires last four digits of SSN, middle initial, and requested time off
Experience Requirements
- Recent hands-on experience with cardiac and peripheral catheterization procedures is mandatory
