Description
Cath Lab Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Work in an invasive Cardiology unit with 4 Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology labs.
- Unit includes 23 prep/recovery bays and performs over 6,000 advanced cardiovascular procedures annually (e.g., complex coronary procedures, VAD/ECMO, TAVR, ablations, pacemaker/ICD implants).
- May care for COVID-19 patients.
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
Schedule
- Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM).
- Weekends as needed.
- Minimal on-call duties, primarily to assist full-time staff.
- Must be willing to stay until the last patient is cared for.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- I9 attestation and E-Verify compliance.
- Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal background check (must be updated annually).
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search (must be finalized prior to start).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment.
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Childline Search) required within 5 years; may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days.
- Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts.
- Two professional references within 3 years.
- Most recent resume or employment application.
- Annual skills checklist.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
- Negative QGold or TSpot TB test within 90 days (PPD not accepted). For positive TB, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required.
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start.
- Vaccination or positive titer proof for:
- Rubeola (Measles) – 2 doses or positive titer; 2 boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
- Mumps – 2 doses or positive titer; 2 boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
- Rubella – 2 doses or positive titer; 2 boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
- Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer; 2 boosters required if titers negative/equivocal.
- Hepatitis B – positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable.
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season or valid medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted).
- COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption/declination accepted.
- Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year and renewed annually.
- Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year (required by agency, not facility).
- Fit testing preferred but not required.
Competency & Training Requirements
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health; remediation and second attempt process applies if failed.
- Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required.
- Completion of assigned Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to start (cannot be completed on cell phones).
- New hire orientation must be completed by end of first day.
Additional Notes
- Maximum return-to-office (RTO) time: 7 days.
- No holiday shifts required.
- Floating to other units is not applicable.
- Photo for badge must be a clear, professional, passport-style headshot with a light background.
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, and Non-Employee Affidavit.
