Job Opportunity: LDR/ED RN (Nights)

Location

  • Providence, Rhode Island

Position Details

  • Specialty: RN Emergency Room with Labor, Delivery & Recovery (LDR) experience
  • Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: Nights only, 36 hours per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Home Unit: Women's Emergency Room
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: EPIC proficiency required
  • No schedule variations or extensions available

Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in the Women's Emergency Room with a focus on Labor, Delivery & Recovery.
  • Must have strong LDR background and flexibility to support emergency care within a women's health environment.
  • Care delivered according to ANA Standards including assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Assist with patient lifting, transfers, and transport via wheelchair or stretcher.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Rhode Island
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
  • Labor and Delivery experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current certifications:
    • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Proficiency with EPIC Electronic Medical Record system
  • English proficiency
  • Ability to assist with patient mobility and transfers

Immunization and Health Requirements (must be current and documented)

  • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical exemption
  • Influenza vaccine (required during flu season)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – proof of immunization or positive titer
  • Varicella – proof of immunization or positive titer
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) within last 10 years
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination (titers not accepted)
  • Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within the last year; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
  • Fit test for N95 mask within the last year

Additional Onboarding Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license or state ID
  • Criminal background check (Federal, County, National, Statewide) within 6 months of start
  • Fingerprinting completed in Rhode Island within 30 days of start
  • Professional references including at least one supervisory reference
  • Skills checklist and specialty competency exams specific to RN role
  • Basic EKG and pharmacology exams
  • Completion of confidentiality agreement and employment verification for last 5 years
  • Badge photo with neutral background
  • Completion of required orientation and clearance forms prior to start
  • BSN diploma or transcripts (for RN positions)

  • Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
  • This position requires night shift availability only.
  • No extensions or schedule changes will be accommodated.
