Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health (Nights)

Location: Lawton, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Participate in formulating patient care plans.
  • Attend weekly clinical staffing and review patient treatment plans.
  • Provide medication education to patients and families.
  • Observe and report patients’ emotional and mental status accurately in charts.
  • Conduct teaching and educational groups as scheduled.
  • Train LPNs and Mental Health Technicians in charting, vital signs, patient routines, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Participate actively in Performance Improvement (PI) teams or other unit task forces.
  • Accept educational or lecture assignments as directed.
  • Maintain Therapeutic Options certification.
  • Serve as a positive role model in language, dress, hygiene, and behavior.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
  • Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency

Preferred Qualifications

  • De-escalation training.
  • Recent travel nursing experience.

Additional Information

  • Orientation for nursing travelers starts on Thursdays.
  • Local candidates (within 50 miles) may be considered at a reduced rate.
  • On-call pay applies with a minimum of 1 hour.
  • Non-compete: Former direct employees are ineligible for agency placement until 6 months after direct employment ends.

Note: This position involves working in a behavioral health setting during night shifts with 12-hour shifts.
