Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery
Location
- Alamogordo, New Mexico
Employment Type
- Travel assignment
- Full-time, Night shift (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a perinatal setting.
- Manage clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and delegations.
- Deliver care consistent with nursing standards, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year
- Experience in Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) care
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP certification
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Certification in one of the following fetal monitoring courses:
- AWHONN Intermediate FHM
- NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
- STABLE certification (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants)
Additional Information
- Must meet applicable nursing competencies related to leadership and clinical practice standards.
