Description
Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Registered Nurse)
Location: Oxford, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery / OB)
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Schedule: Every other weekend required
- EMR System: MEDITECH (experience not required)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- Certifications required prior to start and must be maintained throughout assignment:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check: 7-year criminal history, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug test within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months (with annual TB questionnaire if prior positive)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or declination)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit
- NURSYS license verification required
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start
- Facility-specific forms for flu vaccine exemptions (religious or medical) if applicable
- Attestation forms including I9 and E-Verify compliance
Notes
- Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the facility for over 1 year
- Internal evaluations required if employed over 2 years
- Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
