Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location: Henderson, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit and Position Details

  • Unit: Labor and Delivery
  • Number of Openings: 1
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Weekend Shifts: 5-6 shifts in a 6-week schedule
  • Call Requirements: No scheduled call; may flex down based on unit census and staff rotation
  • Float Requirements: Not required, but may float to task/secretary if needed
  • Number of Beds on Unit: 16
  • Patient Ratios: Per AWHONN guidelines
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: GE Centricity/Paragon
  • Patient Population: Labor and Delivery, including couplet care and some NICU experience

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Certifications:
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) care
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience

  • Patient care follows AWHONN guidelines for ratios and standards
