Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU
Location: Brighton, Michigan
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12.5-hour shift)
Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Job Description Highlights
- Work schedule includes every other or every third holiday rotation.
- Position requires direct patient care in a PCU setting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Michigan
- Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
Health and Immunizations
- Fit Test (respirator) with physician signature on evaluation form.
- COVID-19 vaccine with booster proof or approved exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
- MMR: Proof of two vaccinations or immunity titer.
- Hepatitis B: Must have started vaccination series prior to start.
- Influenza vaccine: Optional but recommended.
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA test for TB screening; positive TB requires chest x-ray within last year.
- Varicella: Proof of vaccination or immunity titer.
- Tdap vaccine: Current and non-expired; declination accepted if no pediatric interaction.
- Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
Drug Screening
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
Background and Professional Checks
- Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background check covering last 7 years, including SSN verification.
- Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma.
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion checks within 30 days.
- NSO (National Sex Offender) check dated within 30 days.
- Conflict of Interest Disclosure and Code of Conduct forms signed and on file.
- Confidentiality and Information Security Agreement signed.
- Integrity and Audit Services form signed shortly before start.
- System Access Form completed and uploaded one week before start.
Competency and Skills
- Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year.
- Skills checklist provided and completed by agency for clinical contractors.
- Joint Commission CORE exam completed within the last year.
Additional Notes
- All required documents and verifications must be uploaded to the credentialing system prior to or at onboarding.
- This position requires compliance with all health, safety, and professional standards as outlined.
- The role involves working 12.5-hour shifts with holiday rotations, suitable for nurses comfortable with extended hours and variable holiday schedules.
