Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgery
Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 07:30 AM – 06:00 PM
Job Summary
- Provide intra-operative nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with surgical team members to deliver high-quality care.
- Primary duties include circulating procedures, instrumentation, assisting surgeons and anesthesia providers.
- Care for surgical patients of all ages in specialties including ENT, General Surgery, Orthopedics (including Spine), Podiatry, Dental/Oral Surgery, Pain Management, Ophthalmology, Urology, OB/Gynecology (including C-sections), Vascular, and Bariatric surgery.
- Clinical activities include circulating, instrumenting, first assisting, patient education, and serving as a resource nurse.
- Additional call hours required: approximately 70-80 hours per 4-week period with a 30-minute response time.
- Previous experience with Epic electronic health records system is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa.
- Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with Epic electronic health records system.
