Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Columbus, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:30 - 7:00)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Summary

• Provide respiratory care to patients ranging from infants to geriatrics, primarily adults but also pediatric intubated patients.
• Work in a Level 2 trauma center with interventional stroke certification and a Level 3 NICU that serves as a regional transport resource.
• Manage non-invasive and conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, arterial lines, oxygen management, patient education, arterial and capillary blood gases, and line draws.
• Trauma experience is required.
• Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) is preferred.
• Floating within the facility and to a sister campus as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Work Environment & Expectations

• Work every other weekend unless otherwise specified.
• No call requirements.
• Holiday work expectations:

  • If 1 major holiday occurs during assignment, expected to work it.
  • If 2 major holidays occur, expected to work both.
  • If 3 major holidays occur, expected to work 2 of them.
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day.
• Electronic medical record and unit systems used include Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, Viasys Avea.
• Scrub color: Slate Gray.
• Return to Orientation (RTO) maximum allowed is 7 days.
• Floating may be required within the facility and to a sister campus.

• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Locals are accepted at the same rate.
• Full compliance with onboarding and credentialing is required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling.
• Two clinical references and verification of recent work history are required.
• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 14 weeks = 14 hours).
