Description
MRI Technologist (Temporary)
Location: Petoskey, Michigan
Shift: Days
Hours per day: 10
Position Summary
Perform all aspects of ultrasound diagnostic imaging at a technical level under general supervision, producing high-quality images consistent with established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound diagnostic studies.
- Obtain patient history, explain procedures, and address patient concerns to ensure comfort and confidence.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound scanning equipment.
- Position patients, select appropriate transducers and machine settings, and conduct scanning procedures to capture requested images.
- Complete quality assurance processes and practice radiation safety to minimize exposure.
- Comply with all regulatory laws, standards, and protocols (The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local).
- Maintain documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in both paper and electronic formats.
- Ensure adequate supply of consumables for quality testing.
- Perform routine maintenance and function checks on imaging equipment.
- Assist other radiology areas as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience.
- Experience with patient populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric.
- Valid license appropriate for MRI Technologist role in Michigan.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior travel experience preferred but not required.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Additional Information
- Dress code: Royal blue or red scrubs.
- Equipment used includes Siemens Somotom Sensation 64, Siemens Definition AS20, Philips Ingenuity 128.
- PACS system: GE; RIS system: Cerner.
