Job Description

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care in accordance with professional nursing standards and organizational policies.
• Accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self and others under direction.
• Utilize specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills to provide care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
• Must be willing to care for Telemetry patients as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years recent experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing.
• Minimum 2+ years experience working with stroke patients (must be listed on resume).
• Registered Nurse (RN) license with verification less than 30 days old.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must obtain NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification within 48 hours if offered.
• Must obtain mRs/SIREN Certification within 48 hours if offered.
• COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory; declinations are not accepted and must be state recorded.
• Skills checklist specific to Medical-Surgical discipline.
• Resume with all gaps over 30 days clearly explained.
• Two supervisory references: one from the last 6 months and one from the last 12 months.
• Local candidates accepted.

Additional Information

• Candidates may request time off equivalent to one week of contracted hours during the assignment.
• Orientation sessions are scheduled up to 6 weeks in advance and occur every other week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
• Overtime starts after 48 hours worked.
• Facility is a 257 licensed bed acute and sub-acute care center with a high volume of admissions and emergency visits.
• The position involves working in a well-established suburban hospital setting with a broad range of medical services.
