Description
Speech Language Pathologist
Location: Hattiesburg, Mississippi
Contract Length: 13 weeks (89 days ≈ 13 weeks)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8-hour days; one full weekend per month
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Job Summary
- Provide a full range of speech-language pathology services including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment.
- Demonstrate accountability in program development, quality improvement, problem solving, and productivity enhancement.
- Use critical thinking for patient evaluation and treatment planning.
- Perform patient evaluations using appropriate functional tests and measures, considering medical stability, social factors, and comorbidities.
- Develop functional goals incorporating patient/family input, establishing appropriate frequency and duration of therapy.
- Provide care appropriate to the patient’s age, understanding growth and development principles.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to vocal, auditory, memory, and swallow skills.
- Assist patients and families throughout the continuum of acute therapy care.
- Perform physically demanding tasks including moving patients and equipment safely; able to lift, handle, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain compliant, secure, and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of full-time acute care experience including adult dysphagia and modified barium swallow studies, OR
- 2 years of skilled nursing or inpatient rehab facility experience including adult dysphagia and modified barium swallow studies.
- Competency in modified barium swallow studies is mandatory.

- Volume of patients is consistently high.
- Must demonstrate professional behaviors within the scope of speech-language pathology practice.
- This position requires flexibility and teamwork in an interdisciplinary setting.
