Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM), alternating 3 and 4 shifts per week including every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

• Provide respiratory therapy services in the Respiratory Therapy department.
• Work schedule consists of 12-hour day shifts with a rotating weekly schedule (3 shifts one week, 4 shifts the next).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Louisiana
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check required within one year of start date and updated annually.
• Must complete facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreements, dress code policy review, and clinical onboarding exam.
• Physical exam required initially and updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands.
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) required within 30 days of start date; annual TB questionnaire required.
• Immunization or titer documentation required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug test within the last 12 months (instant acceptable).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• COVID-19 vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions must be submitted on facility-specific forms for review.

Additional Notes

• Locals are accepted for this position.
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required prior to or upon start.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification is not required for this role (not listed as required).
• Orientation and annual safety manual acknowledgment required.
