Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech

Location: Los Gatos, California

Job Description

• Perform routine and specialized breast imaging procedures, including biopsies and needle localization, to produce quality diagnostic images.
• Work independently using sound judgment and clinical skills to ensure safe, precise, and timely procedures.
• Provide competent patient assessment, monitoring, and effective communication to gain patient and healthcare team cooperation.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
• Primarily Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays (1-2 per month).
• Expected to perform 16-18 exams per shift.

Shift Details

• Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day.
• Shift options: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Mammography Technologist license in California (RHM).
• Minimum of 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience, with experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC).

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report if applicable.
• FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually.
• State-specific Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List search if FACIS III cannot be run.
• Education verification required unless highest education is high school.
• Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps.
• Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
• Two professional references required (not client-mandated but Aya requirement).

Certifications and Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and other certifications as applicable (verify with recruiter).
• Venipuncture/IV certification may be required (verify with recruiter).
• Competency exams as applicable to profession, including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency if applicable.
• State license verification required within 30 days of start.
• National tech certification verification required within 30 days of start.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work.
• Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
• Immunizations and/or titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years).
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start; annual renewal required.
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations.
  • Hepatitis B series or declination.
  • Varicella titers or vaccinations.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) or signed declination.
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Candidate must review and sign various facility policies and documents prior to start, including:
