Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Location: Mount Vernon, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Shift: Day (5 days a week, 8 hours per day, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Call: Once a week on every 4th Friday, Saturday, and Sunday


Job Description

  • Work in a Level II Cath Lab specializing in interventional cardiology (no open-heart surgery).
  • Perform interventional radiology procedures, primarily angiograms and stenting.
  • Must have cardiac experience and be able to take STEMI call.
  • Competency required in ACLS, IABP, and Impella devices.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Ohio.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, with experience within the last year.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.

Experience

  • Must be experienced in cardiac catheterization lab procedures.

Certifications & Competencies

  • Drug screening (9 or 10 panel) required within the last 12 months.
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (no declinations accepted).
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella proof of immunity or vaccination.
    • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with facility forms).

Additional Requirements

  • Proof of 2 recent clinical references within one year of start.
  • Complete application/resume including 2 years prior clinical practice in acute care or similar area.
  • Radiation badge required for all travelers assigned to Cath Lab.
  • Must review and sign facility-specific policies including medication management and professionalism/appearance.
  • Completion of facility HealthStream training modules immediately upon receipt.
  • Must carry valid state driver’s license if applicable (especially for home health travelers).

Work Environment

  • 40 hours per week, day shift.
  • Call rotation includes every 4th Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Interventional cardiology focus without open-heart surgery.

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Technicians with cardiac interventional skills, ACLS certification, and the ability to manage STEMI calls in a busy interventional radiology/cardiology setting.
