Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist

Location: Kimball, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 2 shifts per week, 10 hours per shift (20 hours/week)

Job Summary

The Mammography Technologist works under the Radiology Director to perform technical and clerical duties within the Radiology/Mammography Department. The role involves producing quality mammographic images, ensuring compliance with ACR and MQSA standards, and supporting patient care with excellent customer service and confidentiality.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform mammographic exams and follow established protocols independently.
• Maintain quality screening and diagnostic mammograms.
• Troubleshoot and report equipment issues.
• Complete assigned clerical duties accurately and timely.
• Manage patient flow and coordinate workload efficiently.
• Assist with patient callbacks and related communications.
• Use computer systems effectively, including scheduling, order verification, and image storage in PACS.
• Maintain regulatory compliance with MQSA and ACR standards.
• Assist with quality control for 3D/Digital Mammograms and data collection.
• Follow infection control practices and proper disposal of sharps.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and families in a respectful and courteous manner.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and move between offices and radiology rooms.
• Ability to lift patients from gurneys or wheelchairs as needed.
• Ability to work at a pace required to obtain quality images.
• Operate medical equipment safely, including wheelchairs.
• Use computer keyboard, telephone, copier/fax machine.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Mammography Technologist (ARRT - M)
• Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT - R)
• BLS Certification
