Outpatient Physical Therapist - Orthopedics
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM
Job Summary
- Assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting to disabilities.
- Restore patient physical functioning by interpreting evaluations and test results.
- Determine physical therapy treatment goals and plans.
- Administer manual therapy and exercises.
- Instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities and using assistive/supportive devices.
- Perform patient assessments and establish plans of care.
- Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
- Discuss evaluation, goals, and treatment with patients and families.
- Evaluate treatment effects at various stages and adjust treatments to maximize benefit.
- Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) according to policy and state regulations.
- Participate in hospital-wide quality process improvement initiatives.
- Complete billing sheets accurately by the end of each day.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Massachusetts
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
- Experience in a Rehabilitation setting
