Job Summary

Perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction to identify abnormalities for patient diagnosis, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain ARDMS certification and modality-specific competency.
• Verify patient identity and orders; prepare patients for exams.
• Perform exams according to protocol; review images for quality and accuracy.
• Complete studies efficiently without compromising care.
• Assist and instruct students and other Radiology Techs on protocols and equipment.
• Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address concerns.
• Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
• Operate ultrasound equipment and related information systems.
• Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures, and any adverse reactions.
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, consents, quality control, and equipment failure reporting.
• Perform vascular ultrasound procedures.
• Maintain cleaning standards and apply imaging techniques.
• Demonstrate anatomical knowledge and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Communicate effectively, work independently and collaboratively.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
• Evaluate ultrasound images for diagnostic quality.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with experience within the last year.
• ARDMS certification.
• Breast Sonographer experience.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• High School Diploma or GED.
