Ultrasound Technologist 1 - Colorado, Wheat Ridge
Job Summary
Perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction to identify abnormalities for patient diagnosis, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain ARDMS certification and modality-specific competency.
- Verify patient identity and orders; prepare patients for exams.
- Perform exams according to protocol; review images for quality and accuracy.
- Complete studies efficiently without compromising care.
- Assist and instruct students and other Radiology Techs on protocols and equipment.
- Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address concerns.
- Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
- Operate ultrasound equipment and related information systems.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures, and any adverse reactions.
- Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, consents, quality control, and equipment failure reporting.
- Perform vascular ultrasound procedures.
- Maintain cleaning standards and apply imaging techniques.
- Demonstrate anatomical knowledge and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Communicate effectively, work independently and collaboratively.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Evaluate ultrasound images for diagnostic quality.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with experience within the last year.
- ARDMS certification.
- Breast Sonographer experience.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or GED.
