    Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

    Location: Mission Viejo, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Primarily working in PET (Positron Emission Tomography) with possible float to Nuclear Medicine as needed.
    • Variable start times between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
    • Shift options: 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts, based on clinical preference.
    • Call required post-shift and rotating weekends; travelers may be exempt from call depending on experience.
    • Experience with EPIC and Siemens systems highly preferred.
    • Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.
    • Local radius for assignment is 50 miles.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California.
    • Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year.
    • ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification.
    • BLS certification.

    Facility & Work Environment

    • Acute Care Hospital with Magnet recognition.
    • Total staffed beds: 426.
    • Charting system: EPIC.
    • Free parking available.
    • Scrub colors: Royal Blue for RNs; L&D/OR scrubs provided.

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    • Government-issued photo ID and Social Security Card required.
    • Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually.
    • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation.
    • Immunizations and health documents required:
      • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination.
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives.
      • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives.
      • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
      • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
    • Fit mask testing required for travel candidates (updated annually), except for Medical Lab Scientists or Sterile Processing Techs.
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.

    Training & Competency

    • Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific Workramp modules required.
    • Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
    • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units.
    • Epic training modules required; candidates must claim their EPIC account and complete assigned modules promptly.

    References & Employment History

    • Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
    • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required.
    • Work history verification required if exceptions to reference requirements are requested.

    Additional Notes

    • Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
    • Scheduling requests related to outside employment will not be accommodated.
    • Weekend shifts may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs.
