Diagnostic Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech) - Illinois, Peoria
Job Details
- Specialty: Diagnostic Radiology Technologist
- Location: Peoria, Illinois
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, typically 8-hour shifts but may include 12-hour shifts with advance notice
- Hours per Week: Approximately 36 hours
- Weekend Requirements: Every third weekend on average; may vary for travelers with advance notice
- Holiday Requirements: Rotation includes holidays
- Call/Standby: None required
Job Description
- Work in a Level One Trauma Center environment
- Provide imaging services for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients, including surgical cases
- Must be able to work independently and float/cover multiple areas as needed
- Use of EMR system: EPIC
- Department equipment includes OEC and Carestream imaging systems
- Orientation period: 10 days (non-billable hours)
- Scrubs provided only when assigned to the OR; no specific scrub color required
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Radiologic Technologist license or proof that the application process has been initiated
- ARRT certification (MR) or NMTCB certification (Nuclear Medicine Tech Cert Board)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Experience required: Must have prior experience working in a busy, preferably Level 1 trauma center
- Must have operating room (OR) experience and be self-motivated, quick-thinking, and flexible
- Preferred experience with Epic, OEC, and Carestream systems
- New graduates will not be considered
Additional Information
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted
- Drug-free workplace: negative drug screen required for all panels
- Orientation hours (12 hours) are guaranteed but non-billable
- No call-off penalties for up to 12 hours every 13 weeks
