Description
Sonographer (Cardiac Ultrasound) - Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Details
- Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days
- Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Orientation: 12 hours of non-billable orientation (guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation)
- Call-Off Policy: Up to 36 hours off allowed every 13 weeks
- Local candidates not accepted; 100-mile radius restriction applies
Job Summary
Perform cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound procedures to acquire echocardiographic and/or vascular data, ensuring high-quality patient care. Provide education and training on ultrasound procedures to fellows, interns, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program (one year of education equals one year of experience)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound experience in a healthcare environment
- Registered in cardiac ultrasound or registry eligible
- Associate's degree from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program
- Ability to think deductively and make clinical decisions
- Experience with ultrasound equipment, including transesophageal transducers
- Familiarity with research computer systems, hospital information systems, and digital echo storage systems
- Knowledge of cardiovascular and vascular circulatory system principles, including physics and blood flow hemodynamics
- Experience with typical office equipment

- Must be at least 18 years old
- Commitment to meaningful, impactful work supporting patients and colleagues
- Call as needed during the day shift
