Registered Nurse (ER) - Oregon, Pendleton
Job Details
- Specialty: Emergency Room (ER)
- Location: Pendleton, Oregon
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Evening, Night
- Hours: 12-hour shifts (07:00-19:00, 10:00-22:00, 13:00-01:00, 19:00-07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Yes, unless off in signed contract
- Call Requirement: Rarely
- Floating: Optional, usually not required for ER
- Orientation: Unit-specific, 2-3 days of 12-hour shifts
Unit Information
- Unit: ER
- Beds/Trauma Bays: 11
- Patient Volume: Approximately 37 patients per day
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 3-4 patients
- Trauma Level: Level 4
- Triage: No separate fast track; direct bed until full then quick triage by ER RN
- ER Holds: Managed by ER RNs within the ER
- Psych/Seclusion Rooms: Available (Room 3)
- Security: In-house security present
- Imaging: X-Ray and CT adjacent to ER; ER RN responsible for patient transport to imaging
- Phlebotomy: ER RN performs all blood draws
- Respiratory Therapy: RT available 24/7; ER RN reads cardiac monitor strips and manages all ER tasks
- EMR System: Meditech
- Charge Nurse: Triage RN acts as charge nurse for half the day
- Support Staff: Occasional nurse aides, paramedics, patient sitters
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Experience & Skills
- Required ER Experience: 2-3 years
- Must be an independent thinker and self-motivated
- Prior travel experience is not specified as required

- Can apply for the Oregon 90-day Emergency License
- Scrub color/dress code: Navy blue
- Located near a major interstate and a well-known local landmark ("Cabbage Hill")
- Unit manager will conduct a phone interview during profile review
