Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work day shifts, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts between 6:00 AM and 4:30 PM
- Weekend and holiday shifts as needed (minimal call required, mostly to assist full-time staff)
- Must be willing to stay until the last patient is cared for
- Unit specializes in invasive cardiology with 4 Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology labs
- Unit has 23 prep/recovery bays and performs over 6,000 advanced cardiovascular procedures annually, including:
- Complex coronary procedures
- Ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO
- Structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping)
- Complex atrial and ventricular ablations
- Pacemaker/ICD implant and explant
- Cardioversion
- Pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation
- Peripheral intervention and pulmonary embolectomy
- May care for COVID-19 patients
- Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (40 hours/week)
- Weekend and call coverage as needed (minimal)
- No floating required
- Maximum return-to-office (RTO) time: 7 days
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search (must be finalized prior to start)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment
- Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts
- Professional references: 2 within last 3 years
- Recent resume or employment application
- Annual skills checklist
- Photo for badge (passport-style, clear, professional)
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
- Immunizations and titers:
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series) plus declination form if applicable
- TDAP within 10 years
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; chest x-ray if positive
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as required
- Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption during flu season (declinations not accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccine or exemption/declination accepted
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (required by agency, not facility)
- Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
- Completion of facility-specific learning modules and new hire orientation (must be done on PC/laptop, not mobile)
- Review and sign facility-required documents including code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, commitment to health & wellness, and non-employee affidavit

- Candidate will undergo clinical screening and manager interview before final selection
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free; candidates must be notified prior to submission
- Minimal call required, mostly to assist full-time staff
