Certified Surgical Technician - Outpatient Surgical Center

Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
• No weekends, call, holidays, or rotations

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Minimum of 1 year of Surgical Technician experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Valid professional license/certification as required for the position (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)
• Documentation of required immunizations and health screenings including:

  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccination or proof of immunity
  • TB test (skin test or blood test) within 3 months of start date, updated if break >6 months
  • Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no exemptions allowed)
  • Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit test required
  • Physician Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months
• Criminal background checks including:

  • State and national criminal background checks within 45 days prior to start, updated if break >6 months
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if break >6 months
  • Social Security Number trace for past 7 years
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Education verification of highest level achieved (except CNA positions)
• Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the skillset
• Completion of skills checklist within 1 year of submission
• Completion of self-study orientation and attestation prior to onboarding

Submission Requirements

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state for all entries
• Candidate submission coversheet (current version)
• Two references as noted above

Additional Information

• Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity is strongly preferred but optional
• Tdap vaccination within 10 years is preferred but optional
• If positive TB test, documentation of a negative chest x-ray after positive test is required
• Name change documentation required if credential names do not match legal name or profile

Notes

• No prior travel experience is explicitly required for this position
• All required documentation must be current and updated as specified to maintain compliance
• Fit testing cannot be performed onsite; must be completed prior to start date using designated forms
