MRI Tech - Radiology

Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Perform diagnostic MRI scans and assist radiologists and referring physicians during MRI procedures.
• Ensure patient care for all age groups: infant through geriatric.
• Operate MRI scanners efficiently, applying advanced technical skills and physics knowledge.
• Make technical decisions to optimize MRI image quality.
• Use various MRI scanning equipment and hospital/department computer systems.
• May be required to float within the department based on competency.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment equivalent to a Level 1 trauma center.
• Schedule includes 3x12 hour rotating shifts with varied days, weekends, holidays, and call shifts.
• Call is required; may include after-hours standby and callback.
• May need to work major holidays and pick up additional shifts during the schedule period.

Facility Environment

• Level 2 trauma center with stroke accreditation.
• Approximately 800 inpatient beds and 80 emergency room beds.
• Serves a 500-mile radius with a high volume of trauma and emergency cases.
• Advanced technologies including 3T MRI, PET/CT scanners, and robotic surgical systems.
• Recognized for specialized centers such as heart failure and neurosciences institutes.

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience within the last year.

• Must handle multiple simultaneous demands while remaining courteous and professional.
• The employer reserves the right to cancel shifts with 48 hours’ notice due to low census during the contract.
