MRI Tech - Radiology

Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform diagnostic MRI scans and assist radiologists and referring physicians during MRI procedures.
• Ensure patient care across all age groups: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
• Make technical decisions to optimize MRI image quality.
• Operate various MRI scanning equipment and hospital/department computer systems.
• May be required to float within the organization up to competency level.
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, call shifts, and after-hours standby/callback.
• Must maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and effective communication under pressure.

Work Environment

• Extremely busy, fast-paced setting serving a large regional area.
• Level 2 trauma center with stroke accreditation.
• Large hospital with approximately 800 inpatient beds and 80 ER beds.
• Volume and pace comparable to a Level 1 trauma center.

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Additional Information

• May be required to work major holidays and pick up additional shifts.
• Employer reserves the right to cancel shifts with 48 hours’ notice due to low census.
• The position involves direct patient care and requires adherence to age-specific competency standards.
