    Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job in California

    Location: Eureka, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Shift: Day shift, 8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Facility Overview

    • Acute Care Hospital with 150 staffed beds
    • Charting system: Epic
    • Free parking on first day; assigned parking provided during orientation
    • Radiology scrub color: Black

    Job Details

    • May be required to float between similar units
    • Block scheduling available at manager's discretion
    • Locals accepted
    • Pending license not accepted
    • Facility may call off once per two-week pay period

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Radiation Therapist license in California
    • Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
    • ARRT T (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Therapeutic) certification

    Compliance and Documentation Requirements

    Background Checks & Verifications

    • Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
    • Education verification required for all candidates
    • Work history verification and references: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment

    Health and Safety

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually)
    • Immunizations and screenings required:
      • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
      • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
    • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start

    Certifications (as applicable)

    • ACLS, PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, IV Certification, Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – verify per clinical track requirements
    • State license verification and NURSYS verification required for RNs; for Radiation Therapists, state license and ARRT certification are mandatory
    • Radiation badge issued by facility (facility responsibility)

    Competencies

    • Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
    • Color blindness testing may be required on a unit basis

    Additional Requirements

    • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
    • Must complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
    • Floating policy acknowledgment required (may float to other nearby facilities)

    Notes

    • No pending licenses accepted
    • Must include Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at time of submission
    • Background checks and other verifications have specific regional and state requirements, especially for Washington and Oregon border facilities (not applicable here but important for multi-state travelers)
