Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer (Travel/Contract)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: Rotating shifts (5 days/week, 8 hours per shift)
- Day shift: 08:00 - 16:30
- Night shift: 16:30 - 08:30
Hours per week: 40
Job Overview
- Work as a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer specializing in congenital and acquired pediatric cardiac disease.
- Patient age range: Neonates through adults.
- Average patient visits: 8 per day.
- Number of rooms: 3.
- Scrub color: Navy blue scrubs for pediatric department; white short sleeve or navy long sleeve undershirts; pink scrubs for trauma assignments; business casual (no jeans, no open toe shoes, no sleeveless tops, no shorts) for certain departments.
- Holidays: Required as scheduled.
- Floating: Required within specialty and to other units/facilities within scope.
- Weekends: Not required.
- On-call: Approximately once every 8 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Echo Technologist, with recent experience within the last year.
- Pediatric Echocardiography experience.
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Competencies and Testing
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥ 80%).
- Age-specific competency exam (score ≥ 80%).
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (for applicable specialties).
- Color blind testing (required for clinical roles).
Facility and Compliance Requirements
- Photo for badge: Passport-style photo with solid white or beige background required.
- Confidentiality agreement and dress code review required prior to start.
- Security ID application must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract.
- Facility-specific training and documentation may be required, including Epic Portfolio Training Test Out form for eligible candidates.
- Latex allergy questionnaire must be completed by all candidates.
- Floating within specialty and related units is expected.
