Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel)
Location: Brownsville, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED)
- Number of Beds: 11
- Staffing: 8 RNs total
- Shift Staffing:
- Day Shift: 2 RNs, 1 ED Physician, 1 Radiology Tech, security officer on campus 12 pm–4 am
- Night Shift: 2 RNs, 1 ED Physician, 1 Radiology Tech, security officer on campus 12 pm–4 am
- Patient Care Model: Team Nursing
- Equipment: Standard Emergency Department equipment
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Job Description & Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care across all triage levels
- Perform phlebotomy
- Support airway management and intubation
- Assist with splinting and immobilization
- Monitor moderate sedation and recovery
- Assist with wound care and laceration repair
- Participate in cardiac monitoring, code response, and resuscitation support
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
